YSL 1992 diffusion line sweatshirt , made from super soft cotton jersey with raw hems and ‘YSL’ logo and ‘Fake’ graffiti paint effect front and back respectively.

This has a purposefully distressed look. however is a quality piece with a good weight of fabric and constructed using a high end overlock stitch technique.

This was the era when logos were being printed inside and directly onto the garment, I remember this well! Seemed so obvious to do and innovative (subsequently copied by GAP). In contract to the catwalk collection of this time which seemingly so 80s glam / Hilary from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

This look pre-dated the 1993 eponymous grunge collection by Marc Jacobs for Perry Ellis which led to him being fired and Suzy Menkes of British Vogue declaring “Grunge is ghastly”.

This is a collector’s piece and with collector’s YSL sweatshirts selling for £120.00 upwards this is a snip.

Repair to right inner seam, and tack stitch to secure ends - does not detract, a note to point out for transparency.
