Vintage Studio Pottery Handmade Large Jug, 70s

Beautiful handmade studio pottery jug, handcrafted in Cumbria using a unique Ironstone clay unique to this beautiful area of the lake district, coloured using iron ore from the Iron mine. The colour is dark rich terracotta.

The handle has been made by folding a strip of clay and the top of the jug has a pinch top which gives a softly curving shape.

Beautiful handmade vintage condition, without any chips or cracks.

There are sone some slightly un-even surfaces, with production marks and all the wonderful characteristics of a handmade piece. There is also a glaze 'miss line' near the base and the rim also also has a rough edge to it.
