RARE! Iconic space age design INPUT storage pot by Martin Roberts for CRAYONNE, 1970S

An iconic design object with the three indentations which give a functional minimalist aesthetic for the lid, making this beautiful and useful.

Designed by Martin Roberts for Conran Associates and manufactured by Crayonne Ltd, the Iconic range features the ice bucket which was part of a range of 21 brightly coloured, heavy-duty plastics containers sold through Habitat.

First launched in 1973, the Input series was created to be interchangeable, with the same height and diameter used throughout, and included trays, bowls and vases with an assortment of lids.

Founded in 1972 Crayonne was a subsidiary of Airfix Plastics established to try to improve the rep of the plastic as a consumer material. Terence Conran, Habitat was approached to add his design principles and aesthetic to everyday homewares. The Input range won the 1974 Design Council Award for Contract and Consumer Goods.
